“Judy Austin Threatens Court Action Against Ex-Husband” — Actress Denies Allegations Linking Yul Edochie To Collapse Of Her Marriage

Nollywood actress, Judy Austin, has vowed to take legal action against her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, following a series of allegations he made against her and her husband, actor Yul Edochie.

Obasi had made the allegations during an interview on The Honest Bunch Podcast, where he claimed that Austin’s relationship with Edochie contributed to the collapse of their marriage and his separation from his children.

He alleged that Austin became interested in Edochie while they were still married, adding that she often spoke highly of the actor whenever he appeared on television.

“Any time we were watching television and Yul Edochie appeared, Judy Austin would no longer be concentrating. She would tell me, ‘I love this man,’ though not directly in that manner. She would praise him and say his voice sounded like her uncle, Chinedu, and that was why she liked him,” Obasi said.

He further claimed that Austin later told him she had met Edochie, who allegedly offered to become a family friend and assist him financially, an offer Obasi said he rejected.

Following the circulation of clips from the interview on social media, Austin responded in a video, dismissing the allegations and insisting that the matter would be handled legally.

The actress said she first met Edochie on a movie set in 2016, which she claimed was three years after her marriage to Obasi had ended.

She also stated that actor Sylvester Madu encouraged her to pursue acting, denying suggestions that her relationship with Edochie began while she was still married to Obasi.

Austin accused her former husband of lying and attempting to use Edochie’s name to gain public attention.

“You’ve been bought over to come and destroy my name,” she said.

She also denied allegations that she prevented Obasi from having access to his children.

Reacting to the controversy, actress Shan George urged the public to stop attacking Austin and Edochie, saying the matter should be left to God.

“If you’re still dragging Yul and Judy after all these years and three children later, it means you’re playing God or you have another agenda. What has happened has happened. Leave the rest to God,” she wrote on social media.

Edochie also denied claims that he prevented Obasi from seeing his children, insisting that the issue had nothing to do with him.

“Some of my fans have reached out to me saying, ‘Please allow him to see his children.’ I have never stopped anybody from seeing his children,” he wrote.

“In this era of social media, people prefer chasing clout and making money from my name rather than doing the right thing. If he wants to see or take his children, he should speak with his ex-wife. He has her number. It has nothing to do with me.”

The controversy has continued to generate reactions on social media, with Austin insisting that she will seek legal redress over the allegations made by her former husband.
