Ogun West Obas Receive Senator Adeola Yayi, Hail Consensus Candidacy In Ogun APC

Traditional rulers across Ogun West, led by the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, yesterday, 19th April 2026, received the man of the moment, destined to bring the crown home after over five decades since the creation of the Gateway State, Distinguished Senator (Aremo) Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), following his emergence as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.

 

The royal convergence, held at the Yewa Frontier Hotel, was described as a symbolic homecoming of a distinguished son embraced by his own people at a defining moment in his political journey. The distinguished Senator came before his royal fathers to formally present himself and seek the blessings of the revered custodians of tradition.

The royal fathers noted that the emergence of Senator Adeola as the APC consensus candidate reflects growing unity and political maturity among stakeholders, describing it as a welcome development that aligns with the collective aspirations of Ogun West. The Obas expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his fatherly role and commitment to cohesion within the party, and to Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his statesmanship and inclusive leadership in guiding this historic process.

Special recognition was also extended to Chief Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Engr. Gbenga Daniel, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, and the leadership of the party in the state. The monarchs commended the spirit of sportsmanship displayed by Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Hon. Abiodun Akinlade, and Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, whose support reflects a deep commitment to party unity and the overall progress of Ogun West.

 

Speaking at the royal engagement were Oba Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege, the Olota of Ota; Oba Olusola Idris Osolo, the Olofin of Ado-Odo; Oba (Dr.) Michael Adeleye Dosunmu, the Onigua of Eggua-Yewa; Oba Oluwarotimi Fagbenro, the Oloke of Oke-Odan Yewa; Oba Benjamin Oyeditan Olanite, the Onimeko of Imeko-Yewa; and Oba Moruf Ayinla Awode, the Ololo of Ijofin-Yewa. The session was rounded off by the address of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland.

 

Present at the royal engagement were Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Deputy Governor of Ogun State; Hon. Kunle Salako; Hon. Abiodun Akinlade; Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka; Hon. Tunji Akinosi; Hon. Bolanle Lateefat Ajayi; and other Honourable Members of the Ogun State House of Assembly. Also in attendance were Hon. Jagunmolu Jamiu Akande Omoniyi, Hon. Olaolu Olabimtan, and Hon. Wasiu Isiaka. Former Senators present included Sen. Odunsi, Sen. Gbolahan Dada, and Sen. Tolu Odebiyi. Others included Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, Hon. Kayode Oladele, Barr. Biyi Otegbeye, among other top party leaders and distinguished personalities.
