How Soludo’s Chief of Staff Narrowly Survived in Deathly Ambush [VIDEO]

The Chief of Staff to the Anambra State Governor, Hon. Ben Nwankwo, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt after heavily armed gunmen ambushed his convoy along the Amansea–Ndiukwuenu–Awa–Ufuma Road in the Orumba North Local Government Area. 

The attack, which occurred on Sunday night between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM, left four people dead, including two police officers and two civilians attached to the Chief of Staff’s office.

Several other members of the entourage sustained various degrees of injuries during a gun duel that lasted for several minutes. 

Nwankwo was returning to Awka after representing Governor Charles Soludo at an official function when the assailants, who had laid siege in a nearby bush, opened sudden fire on the convoy.

The heavy gunfire, it was learnt led to panic among surrounding communities.
 
Reacting to the incident, the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Value Orientation, Dr. Law Mefor, released a press statement on Tuesday condoling with the families of the victims. 

Mefor assured the public that security agencies would fish out the assailants.
