ONC Honours Ahoada Area Commander, Commends Improved Security Presence

Notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress, ONC, led by its President General, Amb. Emeni Ibe, has paid a courtesy visit to the Ahoada Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force, where it presented an Award of Excellence to the Area Commander in recognition of his outstanding service.

 

The visit, which took place on 21st April 21, 2026, brought together representatives from across the Orashi region, comprising Abua/Odual, Ahoada East, Ahoada West, and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas of Rivers State.

Speaking during the presentation, Amb. Ibe congratulated the Area Commander on his appointment and commended the visible improvements in security operations within a short period of his posting. He noted that the command has experienced a renewed sense of efficiency and professionalism, boosting public confidence in security agencies.

He reaffirmed that the ONC remains a socio-cultural organization committed to promoting peace, unity, and conflict resolution through dialogue, while also supporting security agencies in maintaining law and order across the region.

The ONC leader further expressed appreciation to the Commissioner of Police for the posting, describing it as timely and impactful. He however, used the opportunity to call on the Federal Government and relevant authorities, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, to prioritize the upgrading of infrastructure at the Ahoada Area Command, including office facilities and officers’ quarters.

 

Amb. Ibe emphasized that the Command, being one of the oldest in the Niger Delta, deserves modern facilities comparable to others in the region, given its strategic importance and long-standing service, including to multinational operations.

 

 

He concluded with prayers for continued strength and success for the Area Commander, while reaffirming ONC’s commitment to collaboration with security agencies in sustaining peace and development.

 

The visit ended with goodwill messages and renewed calls for stronger partnerships between communities and security institutions in Orashi Region.
