Police detain 10, recover illicit drugs in Delta

Bright Edafe, the police spokesperson in Delta State, disclosed this in a statement issued in Warri and made available to reporters on Sunday.

The Police Command in Delta State, South-south Nigeria, says that 10 suspects are currently in its custody, for allegedly being in possession of illicit drugs.

Mr Edafe, a superintendent of police, explained that the suspects were caught in Abbi Community, Ozoro in Isoko North Local Government Area of the state, on Friday.

He stated that the suspects comprised three males and seven females.

The police spokesperson added that the suspects were caught by operatives of the command’s Anti-Cult Unit, during a raid on a brothel.

Mr Edafe stated that the raid followed credible information on the whereabouts of a wanted suspect, who allegedly committed arson in August.

He said, “Illicit drugs such as: Tramadol, Swinol, Canadian Loud, and weeds, suspected to be marijuana, were recovered during the raid.”

He further explained that the command was profiling the suspects to ascertain their levels of involvement, adding that those found culpable would be prosecuted.
