The Rivers State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of a “one-chance” robbery syndicate in the state.
The command announced this in a statement by its spokesperson, ASP Agabe Blessing Kaborlo.
Police identified the suspects as Uche Samuel, 45, from Omunato Local Government Area of Imo State, and Nkechi Amadi, 42, from Nekede, Imo State.
The command said both suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime during interrogation.
It added that efforts were ongoing to arrest other members of the syndicate still at large.
The Commissioner of Police said the command had launched an “onslaught” against “one-chance” operators and other violent criminals across Rivers State.
“There will be no hiding place and no room for one-chance syndicates or any other criminal elements in Rivers State,” the CP said.
He added that the command would continue to deploy intelligence-driven policing and proactive operations to identify, arrest and prosecute offenders.
The police boss also assured residents of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide credible, timely information that would help security agencies prevent crime and bring criminals to justice.
