The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has confirmed that major road infrastructure projects have been scheduled for inauguration by President Bola Tinubu this week.
Speaking on Monday during an inspection tour of the projects, Wike expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, noting that the administration had met its delivery timelines.
According to him, President Tinubu will begin the commissioning exercise on Tuesday with the Usafa Road project, described as one of the first locations visited during the inspection.
The minister disclosed that the N5 Lifecamp Road, which was also inspected, would be commissioned on Wednesday, while the Airport to Kuje Road is scheduled for inauguration on Thursday.
“Those three projects are 100 per cent complete and ready for commissioning,” Wike stated.
He commended the contractors handling the projects for fulfilling their commitments and adhering to agreed timelines.
The minister praised CGC, Arab Contractors, and Julius Berger for their roles in delivering the road projects.
Wike further revealed that the residence of the Court of Appeal, being handled by a local contractor, would also be commissioned on Friday, June 12.
He described the quality of work on the project as satisfactory and expressed optimism over the impact of the completed infrastructure on residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
“Above all, we’re very happy that the residents are also happy,” he said.
The minister also appreciated members of the media for their continued coverage of the projects and the forthcoming commissioning activities.
