“Unlike Jonathan, Tinubu takes responsibility for Oyo school abduction” – Presidency

The Presidency has said President Bola Tinubu has taken full responsibility for the abduction of schoolchildren from two schools in Oyo State.

Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, stated that, unlike the Goodluck Jonathan administration, the Tinubu-led government did not deny the incident.

Dada made the remark while responding to an X user, @Three_leg_bird, who accused the current administration of failing to accept responsibility for the abduction of over 40 students from a school in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The user wrote: “Your boss pushed the full responsibility to GEJ at the time; today, you guys are trying hard to gaslight Egbon Seyi Makinde. Funny! Hoax!”

In his response, Dada accused the user of twisting history. He added that the government has put all necessary efforts in place to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted students.

“My boss has taken full responsibility for the incident and has been on top of rescue efforts.

“At no point did we mention Seyi Makinde. Unlike GEJ and the PDP in 2014, we never denied that the incident occurred or claimed it was a made-up lie. Stop twisting history to justify your lack of humanity,” Dada said.
