The singer made the cryptic remark days after a video of a reported altercation involving him and Natasha Osawaru outside an Abuja nightclub surfaced online.
Nigerian singer Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has sparked fresh reactions after declaring that he has “seen trouble” and decided not to look for it again, amid speculation about his marriage to Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly.
The event, which celebrated Daddy Showkey’s five decades as an entertainer, featured 2Baba alongside other Nigerian music stars.
During his performance, the “African Queen” hitmaker reflected briefly on his recent experiences before telling the audience that he had decided to stay away from trouble.
“I’ve decided not to look for trouble again. I’ve gone to look for trouble, and I’ve seen the trouble. Tell your neighbours never to look for trouble,” he said.
2Baba did not explain what he meant by “trouble” or link the remark to Ms Osawaru or his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay.
However, the timing of the statement has generated reactions on social media because it comes days after reports of an altercation involving the singer and Ms Osawaru outside a nightclub in Abuja.
PREMIUM TIMES gathered that a video circulated online on Saturday, purportedly showing moments from an incident involving 2Baba and Ms Osawaru during the opening of the ‘90s Lounge’ in Abuja.
The footage, obtained by this newspaper and widely shared on social media, has since generated reactions.
However, the video does not establish what triggered the reported confrontation or the circumstances surrounding it.
An X user identified as King, who claimed to have witnessed the incident, alleged that Ms Osawaru arrived at the venue with some men and waited for 2Baba.
According to him, she approached the singer’s vehicle when he arrived and demanded to speak with him, resulting in a commotion outside the venue.
Although the video shared by the X user did not show Ms Osawaru confronting the singer, he alleged that 2Baba eventually took her inside the venue to prevent the situation from escalating.
Neither 2Baba nor Ms Osawaru has publicly explained what transpired at the venue.
The singer’s latest remark also comes amid renewed public attention on his relationship with his estranged wife, Annie.
PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that 2Baba and Annie had followed each other again on Instagram, months after unfollowing each other following their widely publicised separation.
The pair reconnected on the platform weeks after dismissing rumours that they had reconciled. They said a video that purportedly showed them together again was an old clip.
Checks by this newspaper also showed that 2Baba had unfollowed Ms Osawaru on Instagram.
The developments have prompted some social media users to speculate about the state of the singer’s relationships with both women.
However, neither 2Baba and Annie’s renewed Instagram connection nor his decision to unfollow Ms Osawaru establishes the current state of either relationship. His latest “trouble” remark also does not establish a connection to either woman.
The latest speculation follows a series of controversies involving 2Baba and Ms Osawaru since their relationship became public in 2025.
The singer announced his separation from Annie in January 2025 after more than a decade of marriage and subsequently made his relationship with Ms Osawaru public.
He proposed to the Edo lawmaker in February 2025. Ms Osawaru publicly referred to 2Baba as her husband in May of that year, and the pair subsequently held a traditional wedding.
Their relationship has since attracted public attention on several occasions.
The couple made headlines following a confrontation during an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze.
They also attracted attention following reports of an altercation in the United Kingdom, which allegedly resulted in the singer’s arrest.
In another controversy, 2Baba publicly apologised to Ms Osawaru after saying during an interview that “men are not built for one woman.”
The Abuja incident, 2Baba’s Instagram activity and his latest remarks have again fuelled speculation about his marriage to Ms Osawaru.
The singer, however, has not publicly said that his remarks at Daddy Showkey’s event were about his marriage or the recent controversy.
