NDLEA nabs socialite KC Luxury, seizes 184.5kg cocaine in Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has seized 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine from a courier company in Lagos and arrested two suspects in connection with the consignment.

The agency described the seizure as its largest cocaine haul from a courier company in its history.

Buba Marwa, chairman of the NDLEA, disclosed this on Tuesday during a press briefing in Lagos.

Marwa identified the suspects as Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, a socialite popularly known as KC Luxury, and Lawal Kehinde, an employee of a logistics company.

According to the NDLEA chairman, the seized cocaine consignment was valued at $27.7 million, which he said was approximately N39 million.

Marwa said the agency worked with the management of the logistics company after the seizure, leading to the arrest of Micheal and Kehinde.

He said Nigeria was increasingly being used as a transit hub for illicit drugs destined for the United Kingdom, parts of Europe and Asia.

The NDLEA chairman added that KC Luxury was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while allegedly attempting to leave the country.

According to Marwa, the suspect was found in possession of €7,750, £2,800, N100,000 and expensive jewellery.

He added that exotic vehicles were also recovered from the suspect’s luxury apartment in Banana Island, Ikoyi.

“This cartel leader did not walk into our custody voluntarily,” the NDLEA boss said.

“On the night of 13th August 2026, upon credible intelligence that he intended to flee the country on a business-class flight to Paris, our operatives moved decisively and apprehended him at the boarding gate of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, just as he attempted to escape the reach of the law.

“To those who believe they can hide behind luxury brands, glamorous lifestyles, and social media personas while trafficking poison into our communities and across our borders, this Agency will find you.

“It does not matter how well-connected, how wealthy, or how far you attempt to run. As this case demonstrates, we will track you to the departure gate if we must.”
