A Director of Research at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Femi Otubanjo, has suggested that Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, may defect to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Otubanjo made the remark during an interview on Thursday, where he said Fubara could become a strong contender under the NDC platform if he eventually joins the party.
