Suspected armed herders have killed Emmanuel Kwaghchimin, a 60-year-old farmer, during an attack on his farm in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
The police said the incident occurred at about 3:30 pm on Friday in Atse Village, Mbajir Council Ward, Abako area of the local government.
The victim was working on his farm when the attackers struck and killed him.
Following a distress call, the Divisional Police Officer in Katsina-Ala led a team of officers to the scene. The body was evacuated to Aboh Hospital for a post-mortem examination before being released to the family for burial.
Police said security operatives have begun combing nearby bushes to track down the fleeing suspects, while investigations are ongoing.
