The Zamfara State Government has suspended the Rector of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Dr. Sirajo Shinkafi, over alleged misconduct and insubordination.
The suspension, which takes immediate effect, was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada.
According to the statement, the decision was taken to ensure the smooth running of academic and administrative activities in the institution.
The government also assured members of the polytechnic community and the public that arrangements had been made to maintain uninterrupted operations despite the suspension.
“The Government assures the Polytechnic community and the general public that measures have been put in place to ensure the uninterrupted administration of the institution,” the statement said.
Efforts to reach the suspended rector for comment were unsuccessful as his phone line was not reachable at the time of filing this report.
