Abia Police To Train Security Officers On Media Engagement

The Abia State Police Command is organising a three-day media audio-visual training programme for Police Public Relations Officers and personnel of sister security agencies to strengthen communication, publicity and media engagement.
The Command disclosed this on Sunday, stating that the programme is being organised through its Public Relations Department in collaboration with Her Bold Tribe.
The training is designed to equip participants with practical skills in media engagement, audio-visual content creation, responsible communication and effective dissemination of security information to the public.
The initiative, conceived by the Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, is also aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration, improving public enlightenment and promoting accurate and timely information sharing, particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Command said the programme aligns with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police on professionalism, intelligence-led policing and community policing.
It added that the training forms part of its broader capacity-building initiatives to ensure that personnel are professionally equipped to discharge their responsibilities effectively, maintain public confidence and support a peaceful electoral process.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, continuous capacity development and collaboration with sister security agencies and other stakeholders towards ensuring a safe, peaceful and secure Abia State.
