Kano Man Accuses Girlfriend Of Drugging Him Before Genital Attack

A Kano State High Court has commenced hearing in the trial of Maimuna Idris, who is accused of cutting off her boyfriend’s genitals after allegedly giving him a drug that caused him to lose consciousness.
The alleged victim, Ashiru Sani, told the court during proceedings at the Audu Bako Secretariat court complex in Kano that Idris gave him a drug identified as Diazepam before the incident.
The prosecution counsel, Barrister Safiya Yalwati Yahaya, called Sani as a witness to testify against the defendant.
After hearing his testimony, the court discharged the witness and adjourned the case until November 19, 2026, for continuation of the trial.
Idris had earlier pleaded not guilty to the allegation that she cut off Sani’s genitals in a relaxation room.
The case is expected to continue on the adjourned date.
