Yomi Fash-Lanso’s Faaji-Lawa Xtra returns in December

The third edition of Faaji-Lawa Xtra with Yomi Fash-Lanso, a nostalgic celebration of classical Nigerian music, is set to hold on December 23, 2026, at Sinatra Place, Ladipo Oluwole, Ikeja, Lagos, with a promise of glamour, entertainment, and memorable musical experiences.
Themed “African Attires Affairs,” the upcoming event is expected to bring together lovers of good music, cultural enthusiasts and entertainment seekers for an evening inspired by the timeless songs of legendary Nigerian musicians, particularly those from the South-West.
Conceived by Nollywood actor Yomi Fash-Lanso, Faaji-Lawa is built around the idea of revisiting the music of yesteryear and recreating the memories, values, and emotions associated with classic Nigerian sounds.
The initiative seeks to offer more than entertainment by creating an atmosphere where music serves as a bridge between generations, connecting younger audiences with the rich musical heritage enjoyed by their parents and grandparents.
Fash-Lanso believes that many songs produced by earlier generations of Nigerian musicians contain enduring lessons about love, relationships, community, morality, and everyday life. Through Faaji-Lawa, he hopes to encourage audiences to rediscover these messages while enjoying the rhythm and melodies that defined an era.
The event is designed for both young and older audiences, providing an opportunity for older music lovers to reconnect with familiar classics while introducing younger generations to the works of some of Nigeria’s celebrated musical icons.
The third edition is also expected to attract music enthusiasts from across the country, alongside Nigerians in the diaspora returning home for the Christmas and end-of-year holidays.
With its December date placing it within Nigeria’s festive entertainment season, Faaji-Lawa Xtra aims to offer attendees a distinctive experience that combines nostalgia, cultural expression and social interaction.
The choice of “African Attire Affairs” as the theme adds a cultural dimension to the event, with African-inspired fashion expected to complement the music and create a colourful celebration of heritage and identity.
Beyond the entertainment, the initiative highlights the enduring relevance of classical Nigerian music in a contemporary society increasingly influenced by new sounds and changing musical trends.
For Fash-Lanso, the objective is to create a warm and engaging environment where people can celebrate the past, appreciate the present, and strengthen connections through music.
As preparations continue for the December gathering, Faaji-Lawa Xtra with Yomi Fash-Lanso is positioning its third edition as a celebration of timeless melodies, African identity and the shared memories that music continues to inspire.
The event will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2026, at Sinatra Place, Ladipo Oluwole, Ikeja, Lagos, under the theme “African Attire Affairs.”
