Nollywood Actor, Uche Odoputa announces father’s empty-casket
Nollywood actor Uche Odoputa has revealed that his family will hold a funeral for his late father with an empty casket because they have no remains to lay to rest.
Odoputa announced this in an emotional post, saying the family would honour his father, Mr Kenneth Chukwumezie Odoputa, in a few weeks.
He said that although they had no remains to bury, they were determined to celebrate his father’s life and remember the love they shared.
“We have no body to lay to rest, but we have his life to remember, his dignity to honour and our love to express,” the actor wrote.
He also described his father as “Honestman” and assured that the family would continue to honour his memory.
The actor further used the announcement to encourage people dealing with grief to speak to someone they trust and seek support.
“Dad, we love you. We remember you. We will always honour you,” he added.
