Rivers: Police Probe Deaths Of Man, Girl Found Inside Car

The police in Rivers State have begun investigating the deaths of a man and a young girl, believed to be under 18, whose bodies were discovered inside a Toyota Corolla car in Mgboushimini community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

The discovery has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the deaths, with the police saying investigations are underway to establish what happened.

The Command’s spokesperson, ASP Blessing Agabe, confirmed the incident in a text message, stating that an investigation had commenced to determine the cause of the deaths. She declined to provide further details.

Reports indicate that the deceased man’s wife is pregnant and had previously confronted the young girl over her alleged relationship with her husband.

The couple were also said to have completed their traditional marriage rites and were preparing for their white wedding in November 2026.

However, it remains unclear whether the reported relationship has any connection to the deaths.

The police are yet to disclose further findings from their investigation.
