The Lagos State Government has sealed 25 properties in the Ifako-Ijaiye District over various physical planning violations, including operating without valid permits, illegal remodelling and construction without approval.

The enforcement exercise was carried out by the Monitoring and Compliance Unit of the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) following violations such as over-density, non-conformity with approved plans and ongoing construction without planning approval.

According to the agency in a statement shared on Facebook, the affected property owners had earlier been served contravention notices by the District Office but failed to comply with the directives.

The latest enforcement exercise follows a similar operation in July, when the state government sealed more than 20 properties in Ikeja Local Government Area over various physical planning infractions.

The July exercise was carried out by LASPPPA as part of efforts to enforce compliance with the state’s planning laws.

A statement by the Lagos State Government at the time said the operation was led by the Permanent Secretary, Office of Physical Planning, Olayinka Wasiu, alongside the General Manager of LASPPPA, Kehinde Osinaike, and other directors.

The affected properties included landed properties, uncompleted buildings and structures with unauthorised extensions, which were found to be in violation of the Lagos State Physical Planning Law.

LASPPPA advised owners and developers of the affected properties in Ifako-Ijaiye to visit their nearest district office or its head office at Oba Akinjobi Way, opposite Soho Filling Station, Government Reserved Area, Ikeja, for further action.
