The deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, Alphonsus Ogar Eba, has denied an allegation that he stole N5 million from former State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Edim Inok, challenging his accuser to provide evidence to support the claim.

Eba succeeded Inok as Cross River State APC Chairman.

Responding on Tuesday to a video circulating online in which Inok allegedly accused him of taking the money, the former APC chairman said he neither stole nor misappropriated money belonging to Inok and described the allegation as false.

It challenged Inok to produce evidence, including a bank transfer, receipt or details of the government account from which the alleged payment was made.

He also linked the dispute to his emergence as the PDP deputy governorship candidate, alleging that the accusation was intended to damage his reputation.

He further claimed that he had recommended Inok to contest for the House of Representatives in 2023.

He urged Inok to substantiate his allegation and called on the public to disregard the video.
